Principles of Filmmaking Program Package
Our 6-month youth filmmaking program “Clear Focus” introduces students to storytelling, filmmaking, editing and acting. This program aims to boost creativity, teamwork, and technical skills, helping tell youth program participants stories and share their voices with the world. Youth program participants make short movies and have fun along the way! Youth also explore green screen technology, and AI building technical skills, creativity, and confidence through hands-on media production.

Ages (10 - 12 years old): 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Intro to Filmmaking & Camera Basics: What filmmaking is and how cameras capture motion.
- Storytelling & Script Basics: How every film starts with a story.
- Camera Shots, Angles & Live - Streaming: How shot choices affect how a story feels. How to set up and use live-streaming software.
- Lighting & Sound: How light and sound shape the mood of a film. Lighting Green screen for seamless keying and compositing.
- Acting, Directing & Shooting: Learn Acting & How to work with actors and bring scenes to life. Hands On; Operating Camera & Lighting Equipment.
- Editing & Post Production: How movies are put together after filming. Editing Green screen Keying & Compositing and Syncing Sound.
- Creative Projects & Showcase: Showcase of short films for friends and family at premiere event at a local movie theater.
Youth Filmmaking Enrichment Program Staff
Our Program staff are industry professionals with extensive filmmaking & administration experience.
- (2) Program Directors: KELLY MORGAN & WESLEY PATE JR. Oversees the entire program, set goals, develop curriculum, and ensure smooth operation. They provide leadership, coordinate staff efforts, and support youth participants in achieving their creative potential.
- (1) Program Administrator: CYNTHIA MORGAN Handles daily administrative tasks, manages schedules, communications, and registrations. Ensures that all logistics run efficiently and that participants have a positive experience.
- (1) Filmmaking Instructor: KELLY MORGAN Teaches all aspects of film production, storytelling, acting and camera techniques. Guides students through project development, filming, and editing to help them create compelling short films.
